Matt Komenda, Founder and Managing Partner
Matt Komenda founded Tacoma Holdings in 2020 and serves as the managing partner. Prior to founding Tacoma Holdings, Matt had 8 years of private equity and transaction experience.
Prior to Tacoma Holdings, Matt was an investment professional at FFL Partners, a San Francisco-based middle market private equity firm, where he helped lead investments in Healthcare Services and Business Services. Before FFL Partners, Matt was an investment professional at Berkshire Partners, an upper middle market private equity firm based in Boston. Matt began his career as an investment banker at Goldman Sachs.
Matt graduated from Brigham Young University with a B.S. in Business Management with a Finance emphasis. He received an MBA from Harvard Business School.
Jeff Henderson, Partner
Jeff Henderson is CEO & President of JWH Consulting LLC, an investment and business advisory firm, focused primarily on the healthcare industry, and is an Operating Partner at Tacoma Holdings, an investment firm based in Park City, Utah. He currently serves as a Director on the board of numerous public companies, including Qualcomm (Nasdaq: QCOM), Becton Dickinson (NYSE: BDX), Halozyme Therapeutics (NYSE: BDX), and Fibrogen (NASDAQ: FGEN), as well as privately-owned JQ Medical Supply. Jeff previously was a Board Director at Affordable Care and Integrated DNA Technologies.
Jeff was an Advisory Director at Berkshire Partners, a Boston-based private equity firm, from 2015-2019, and served as Chairman of Qualcomm from 2018-2019. He was Chief Financial Officer of Cardinal Health (NYSE: CAH), a Fortune 25 healthcare products and services company, from 2005 to 2014. At Cardinal, in addition to his financial responsibilities, he had operational responsibility for various parts of the business, including operations in China and Canada. Previously, Jeff held multiple positions at Eli Lilly and General Motors, serving as President and General Manager of Eli Lilly Canada, Controller and Treasurer of Eli Lilly and in management positions with General Motors in Great Britain, Singapore, Canada and New York.
Jeff graduated with an MBA from the Harvard Business School and from GMI Engineering & Management Institute (now Kettering University), where he received a degree in electrical engineering.
He is a native of St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada.
Davis Waid, Analyst
Davis grew up in Las Vegas, Nevada. After graduating high school, he served a two-year service mission in Mexico for his church. He is currently a sophomore at Brigham Young University, studying Economics with an emphasis in strategy. Davis was an investment analyst at Gold Match Capital Partners, and his interest in the health care industry influenced his most recent work experiences as a medical assistant and home health care provider. When Davis is not studying or working he enjoys fishing, rock climbing, and surfing.
